At Natyamani School of Dance, aspiring Bharatanatyam dancers of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to learn from one of the most acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancers in the Greater Boston area. Founder Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai has dedicated her efforts to propagate the divine art form of Bharatanatyam, teaching all facets of the dance including Bhava, Raga, and Tala. Her passionate and signature teaching style brings out the best in her students both on and off the stage, instilling in them a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their lives.

Bharathanatyam
Bharatanatyam is an ancient divine dance style from South India that originates from the Sadir dance form patronized by the courts of Indian kings prior to the 17th century. It is a deeply spiritual dance form rooted in devotion (Bhakti). One interpretation of the name Bharatanatyam refers to the 4 core elements of the dance - Bhavam (expression), Ragam (melody), Talam (rhythm) and Natyam (dance). Bharatanatyam is a composite art form embracing the elements of nritta (pure dance), nritya (drama with dance) and natya (drama).
