About At Your Door Music in Wellesley, MA

Welcome to At Your Door Music® – the traveling music school that brings lessons right to your door! Our one-on-one lessons are tailored to your family’s needs, and are available for children ages six and up, as well as adults of all levels – whether you’re a complete beginner or a more advanced player. We provide lessons in a variety of instruments, from piano and guitar, to drums and voice. At Your Door Music® is more than just playing music – we offer a modern approach that balances the fundamentals of playing with artistic and creative expression. Our lessons cover a range of topics, such as note reading, music theory, scales, chords, ear training, improvisation, and more. We also teach a wide range of musical genres, from classical and country to funk and pop.

Piano Lessons

We fully acknowledge that each aspiring pianist is a unique individual. While it is true that everyone must begin in the same place, where you go from there is completely up to you. The flexible style of our instructors will foster your musical creativity, offering wisdom, and guiding your technique to levels of excellence. While creative expression is strongly encouraged, we incorporate certain features across the board for all our students, especially in the beginning phases of instruction.

Guitar Lessons

We take a well-rounded approach to music instruction. Whatever your goals, we start by teaching proper technique and fundamentals, developing the student into a well-rounded guitarist and musician. And we do all of this in the comfort of your own home. A unique quality of the guitar is its versatility. Guitars are used in many styles and can be found all over popular and commercial music. They’re also ubiquitous in folk music across dozens of world cultures. And they appear on the finest classical concert stages, played by tuxedoed professionals backed by symphony orchestras. With this many directions for guitarists to go in, it’s easy to see how approaches to teaching the instrument can differ greatly. Our teachers cater the lesson to each individual student’s needs while ensuring proper fundamental skills are being mastered.

We believe that in the area of voice, there are no two instruments that are exactly alike. In this way, the voice differs from most other instruments. To master their instrument, singers must have their voices heard and analyzed by a knowledgeable second party – a teacher.
