At the Center for the Arts, we are dedicated to providing the Cape community with access to the visual, literary, and performing arts. We strive to offer a wide range of art instruction, entertainment, and exhibition opportunities. Our programming includes five galleries showcasing art exhibitions, resident artist studios, a performance hall, a culinary arts center, a recording studio, a pottery studio, a makerspace, and art classrooms where visitors can learn a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, photography, jewelry making, and stained glass. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone can explore their creative potential and discover the joy of art.

Oil Painting Online, with Livia Mosanu
In this class students will learn fundamental skills of oil painting. Color relationships and composition will be emphasized while working from still life photo references. Advanced students are welcome to bring in self-directed projects for feedback from the instructor. The class consists of lectures, demonstrations, and one-on-one critiques via Zoom. A Zoom link will be provided prior to the beginning of the class.

Cooking with Agatha: Caramelized Pulled Pork Tacos
We will enhance BBQ pork with a tasty caramel sauce to make a caramelized pulled pork and fill the tacos with a spicy Mayo, prepared pickled veggie salad of red peppers and cucumbers and black sesame seeds. A delicious combination!

Children’s Drum Workshop, with Julian Loida
Join Julian Loida, percussionist, composer, and Head of Music at the Cultural Center, in a one-day introduction to hand drumming. In this fun, engaging, and interactive setting, participants will explore rhythms of the world and experience for themselves the benefits of drumming, including motor skill development, increased coordination, and lowered levels of stress and anxiety. All levels are welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own percussion instruments. There are a limited number at the Center, which will be first come, first serve. Please give us a call if you would like to utilize one for the workshop.
