The Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunities for personal growth, educational advancement, physical fitness, and teamwork for citizens of all ages and abilities in the Bay State. Established in 1982, this non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is the proud host of the State Games of the Commonwealth and is recognized nationally for its Olympic-style events.
The Foundation offers a variety of programs to support its mission, including the High School Ambasador Program, Internship Program, Sports Medicine Program, and Future Leaders Scholarship. Each year, over 5,000 participants from 300 cities and towns directly benefit from the Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation’s programs, making it an important part of life in the Commonwealth.
The Foundation also encourages sportsmanship and teamwork through its events, creating a positive environment for Massachusetts citizens to come together and experience the benefits of physical activity. With its wide range of programs and events, the Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation is an invaluable asset to the Bay State.
Each summer, Bay State Games honors athletes based on participation in the Bay State Summer or Winter Games and other athletic achievements. The Bay State Games Athlete of the Year program was established to recognize individuals who excel above and beyond their athletic participation in the Bay State Games. Individuals are chosen based on overall achievements, involvement in the Bay State Games, involvement in their community, effort, sportsmanship, overcoming adversity and attitude on and off the field. Nominations can be submitted by coaches, commissioners, parents, volunteers, and even other players.

SPORTSMANSHIP
Beginning in 2003, the Bay State Games created a “sportsmanship initiative” which was implemented into the annual Summer Games. It was created to educate Bay State Games participants on the elements of good sportsmanship. Through this program, the Games, alongside DICK'S Sporting Goods will recognize athletes & teams who are role models for sportsmanship.

HIGH SCHOOL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation is searching for High School Ambassadors to help promote the Bay State Summer Games. The Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation is a non-profit organization with the primary function of organizing the Bay State Summer and Winter Games. These programs attract more than 6,000 athletes from the state of Massachusetts, who compete in over 30 different sports. BSG operates with the mission of promoting personal development, education, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship to Massachusetts citizens of all ages and abilities.
