About Kearneys American Karate Somerset in Somerset, MA
At Kearney's American Karate, Master Brian Kearney is the head instructor and chief motivator behind his school's success. Born in Belfast, Ireland, Master Kearney moved to the US in 1975 and has been practicing martial arts since the age of 14. After a lifetime of dedication and passion, Master Kearney opened his first martial arts school in 1999. Master Kearney has achieved the highest level of success in his chosen martial arts, earning a 5th degree black belt in American Karate, a 1st degree black belt in Combat Hapkido and a 1st degree black belt in AFFS System. He even traveled to Korea in 2000 to further his studies in martial arts. His favorite weapon is the nunchucks, and he loves helping his students achieve their martial arts goals.

Tigers and Dragons Program Tigerspicdragonpic Our Tigers and Dragons program is specifically catered to children between the ages of 3-6 years old. At this age it is important to not only instill the martial arts focus, discipliine and respect but to also have fun while doing it. This program is designed not only to teach children the basics of martial arts at a young age, but also to instill honesty, courage, respect and discipline as they enter into the school age years. Upon earning each new rank, intent to promote letters are sent home and to school to ensure your child is growing physically, mentally and emotionally so we can work on their overall growth.

Juniors Program
Our Juniors program is specifically catered to children between the ages of 7-11 years old. At this age we introduce the understanding of stranger danger, bully bustering, and self confidence alongside teaching various levels of martial arts. This program is designed to not only be upbeat and physical but also geared towards the individual student's capabilities. Upon earning each new rank, intent to promote letters are sent home and to school to ensure your child is using what they learn in class constructively and respectfully so we can assist in their overall growth.

Teen MMA Program
Our Teen MMA program is specifically catered to children between the ages of 12-16 years old. This program is designed with the teenage mind in mind and provides multiple avenues to challenge the mind and body. This program includes Kickboxing, forms, ground-grappling, Kali Sticks, and self defense Focusing on the individual's success rather than compared amoungst their peers is important in the terms of self confidence and is at the heart of our program.
