At School of Rock, we know that learning to play music is more than just mastering techniques and theory. It's about having fun and forming lasting relationships with other musicians. That's why for over a decade, our programs for toddlers, kids, teens and adults have been making learning to play music a blast. Our experienced instructors, who are local musicians themselves, combine the performance-based School of Rock Method and programs with individual music lessons to create great communities of musicians and give students the skills to rock on stage. We make sure that students learn to play music from day one with one-on-one drum, bass, keyboard, vocal, and guitar lessons combined with group practices. And we make sure that all of this leads up to a live performance at a local venue. Our goal is to make learning to play music fun and to help students form lasting relationships with other musicians. We’re proud to have been the leader in performance-based music education for over a decade.

ROCK 101 AGES 8-13

Rock 101 is one of School of Rock’s major programs for kids and beginners. The patented School of Rock Method combines our core philosophy of performance-based music education with a unique curriculum designed for kids with no previous musical experience. Students have one weekly group rehearsal where they learn classic rock songs that have been simplified specifically for beginner musicians. These rehearsals get young musicians to learn the fundamentals of their instrument while playing with a band in a positive and fun atmosphere. Students also have a weekly private music lesson with an instructor who will help them rehearse performance songs while teaching them foundational music skills and concepts.

LITTLE WING AGES 3-5

Little Wing is School of Rock's music program designed for our youngest students (mainly 3 to 5-year-olds). This music program for toddlers and preschoolers features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. Little Wing students have one weekly group lesson in which they use classic rock songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.

SONGWRITING AGES 12 AND OVER

Creating original songs can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences for musicians. School of Rock’s Songwriting Program teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement and music theory, and helps students compose original works. Students have one weekly private lesson on an instrument of their choice where they learn concepts, technique and theory. These principles are then applied in weekly group lessons where students work together on songwriting exercises and lyrical workshops. Every few months, Songwriting Program students take the stage to perform or band together to record their original songs.
