For sixty years, Camp Ramah in Palmer, Massachusetts has been providing inspiring summer experiences to children in grades two through ten. Situated on ninety acres of land, Camp Ramah features a lake at its center, a kosher kitchen and dining hall, an infirmary, a hotel-style guest house, a state-of-the-art education complex, and a brand-new gymnasium, theater, and fitness center. Recreational facilities include volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts, soccer fields, and softball diamonds, as well as an art studio, climbing wall, and fifty-foot high Alpine Tower.
Camp Ramah is run by the Jewish Theological Seminary and serves as the camping arm of the Conservative Movement of Judaism. Two-week and four or eight-week sessions are available, and the Ramah experience integrates fun with meaningful content. Children who attend Camp Ramah are sure to have a summer they will never forget.
Sukkot Extravaganza, a free program that we open to communities throughout New England, featured a series of hands-on Sukkot challenges. Students first needed to determine how tall or small their Sukkot could be by measuring their own Amot (length from one’s elbow to the tip of their middle finger) and Tefachim (width of four fingers on one’s hand). Sukkot must be higher than 10 Tefachim, but no higher than 20 Amot.

RAMAH SHABBAT PROGRAMS
Ramah Shabbat programs aim to bring a part of the Ramah experience into our campers’ congregations. During the year we run Ramah Shabbat programs throughout New England and the greater DC area. These programs are run by 2-3 of our summer madrichim and/or year round staff, and are provided to synagogues free of charge. Synagogues have found these programs to be a great way to engage children and families in Shabbat experiences, as well as to promote Jewish summer camp to the greater community. Ramah Shabbat programs often involve a Ramah style service, a family meal with Ramah ruach and singing, and a Ramah style programs for camper age children.
