    Accelerated Master’s Programs

    As early as junior year, undergraduates from Smith, Amherst, Hampshire and Mount Holyoke colleges can enter accelerated master’s programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

    English Language & Literature

    The Department of English Language and Literature aims to teach all students to write and speak well and to read skillfully, thoughtfully, and with pleasure. We offer many courses that stress literary history, influential figures, various theoretical perspectives, linguistic developments, and diverse emergent fields. We also offer students opportunities to pursue creative writing of their own.

    The Smith College Department of Dance gives students a broad view of dance in preparation for professional performance careers, as a training ground for choreographers, or to prepare for study in graduate dance programs. Students who do not intend to pursue dance professionally are also welcome.
