About The Barton Center for Diabetes Education in North Oxford, MA

At the Barton Center for Diabetes Education, Inc., we are dedicated to providing children living with diabetes and their families with a caring and supportive environment. We are one of the largest independent camps and education programs in the country. Our year-round camp, retreat, and conference center host more than 2,000 children and their families annually, providing them with learning experiences and shared activities that will inspire and motivate them. At the Barton Center, we strive to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere to help children and their families learn how to manage diabetes and live healthier lives. Our programs are designed to help them understand their condition and embrace the challenges that come with it. With our commitment to providing comprehensive and tailored educational experiences, we hope to give children and their families the tools they need to live life to the fullest.

Clara Barton Camp

Residential summer camp for girls ages 6-16, in North Oxford, MA Days are filled with sports activities, arts and crafts, swimming, talent shows, casino nights, Hike to Heck (a mudhole), campfires, an occasional outdoor overnight, dances with the boys from Camp Joslin, diabetes education game shows, boating, hiking, occasional field trips, and so much more. Activities vary from week to week. For 89 years, girls between the ages of 6 and 16 with type 1 diabetes have enjoyed the life-altering experience of Clara Barton Camp, with access to more than 200 acres, in North Oxford, Massachusetts. Most return year after year.

Camp Joslin

Boys, Ages 6-16 Camp Joslin provides boys and young men with an exciting combination of camping, fun, diabetes education, support, and recreation! The daily schedule is filled with sports activities, arts and crafts, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, Hike to Heck (a mudhole), campfires, an occasional outdoor overnight, dances with the girls from Clara Barton Camp, diabetes education, hiking, occasional field trips, and so much more. Introducing a one-week, coed camp session! All campers will be together for this fun week. Everyone will be swimming, playing sports, creating arts and crafts, and much more. All campers will be at one location at Clara Barton Camp. Boys and girls will be housed separately.
