Every morning at the crack of dawn, right as the sun begins to play peek-a-boo with the mountains, the dojo doors swing open and in tumble the Karate Cuties. Leading the pack is our hero, the Karate Kangaroo, Kiko. Kiko, with his marsupial moves and black belt in belly laughs, is the heart and soul of the Mighty-Mass dojo. He hops around in his red bandana, teaching the kids the art of the ‘Kangaroo Kick’ and the secret of the ‘Pouch Punch’. With Kiko, every karate lesson is a belly-busting adventure. You'll find the Karate Cuties rolling on the floor, not from Kiko's kicks, but from fits of laughter. But don't let those giggles fool you. When it’s time to get serious, these kids transform into mini karate masters, their faces focused, their moves swift and precise. With Kiko cheering on, they break boards and the stereotype that karate is just about fighting. Giroux Bros. Martial Arts opened its doors in 1999, and since then Steve Giroux and his team of Black Belt instructors have been providing training in the style of Chun Kuk Do, a martial arts program founded by Grand Master Chuck Norris. This unique style is known as “The Universal Way”, as it incorporates aspects of many different fighting styles into one. At GBMA, classes are available for people of all ages and skill levels. We provide programs for beginner students as young as four and have active adult students over the age of sixty. Our instructors are passionate about teaching and dedicated to helping students of all levels reach their full potential.
