Newton Youth Soccer (NYS) is proud to sponsor two major soccer programs for the fall and spring seasons. Our intramural program and BAYS travel program offer a fun and competitive soccer experience for boys and girls alike. We also have an organization specifically for girls called Newton Girls Soccer, so girls can enjoy a separate soccer experience. At NYS, we understand that playing soccer is all about having fun and competing in a positive environment. With over 1,300 players each year, we are proud to boast one of the largest single-town participations in the country. No matter your age or skill level, NYS has a program for you!

In-Town Intramural Program
The intramural program is an in-town program (no travel to other towns) for players from grades one through six. Teams are organized by grade and children who are Newton residents or who attend Newton schools are eligible to play. Games are played on Saturdays and practices vary by age group.

Travel Soccer
Newton Youth Soccer ("NYS") participates in BAYS, the Boston Area Youth Soccer League. BAYS is one of several regional leagues across Massachusetts that provide "travel" soccer, allowing teams from different towns to play one another. Each season, Newton fields about 40-50 teams from players in 3rd Grade through High School. Travel teams practice twice a week and have a game on Saturdays (High School age teams play on Sundays) for 10 weeks in the Fall and 10 weeks in the Spring. 3rd through 8th Grade Travel players are expected to commit to playing BOTH Fall and Spring Seasons. Teams are created to play together for Fall and Spring.

Grade 1 Skills Program
The Spring 2022 Grade 1 Skills program will cater exclusively for our 1st grade players as a supplemental opportunity to their regular programming (for 2nd Grade, see our 2nd Grade Development Academy; 3rd/4th Grade, see our Technical Training Program). Beginning April 13th and running for 8 weeks through June 8th, the Grade 1 Skills program is designed to offer an additional practice for those players who want to do more. The hour long session is split into 30 minutes of skill development and 30 minute of game play.
