About Coastal Discoveries

. Coastal Discoveries is the perfect program for any child looking to explore the wonders of the marine environment. Aboard the 48’ Island Time, children can embark on a unique learning experience and discover the beauty of our coastal waters. Established in 1988, this non-profit summer program is the longest running marine education program in the area, and has given more than 7,000 kids the opportunity to learn more about the ocean and appreciate its fragility. At Coastal Discoveries, we strive to create an unforgettable experience for every child. We have a passionate team of marine educators dedicated to teaching respect for the environment and instilling a love of the ocean. Our program has something for everyone, and we can’t wait to have you join us this summer!

Marine Education Program
Come aboard for a week of fishing, whale watching, hauling lobster traps, exploring islands and so much more! Held aboard our floating classroom, the Island Time, we spend the week discovering the unique and fascinating history and ecology of our coastal waters, from the Merrimack River estuary to the Isles of Shoals, Jeffrey's Ledge and Rockport’s Thacher Island.
