About Walnut Hill School for the Arts - Community Dance Academy in Natick, MA

At the Community Academy at Walnut Hill, we believe that everyone has an inner artist and it is our mission to help as many people discover theirs. The Community Academy at Walnut Hill, an extension of the renowned Walnut Hill School for the Arts, is dedicated to providing a wide range of educational opportunities to aspiring artists of all ages. Our year-round and summer programs focus on the development of visual art, dance, music, and media arts skills. With a faculty of passionate educators and accomplished artists, we aim to ignite the creative spark within each student. The Community Academy at Walnut Hill is committed to fostering a vibrant and collaborative learning environment where all students can explore their artistic potential. Our mission is to help everyone recognize the artist within and uncover the joy of creative expression. Programs at Walnut Hill School for the Arts - Community Dance Academy in Natick, MA

BeAKid
Creative Movement and Music AGES 3–4

Designed to instill a love of dance and an enduring appreciation of physical activity through imaginative movement and play, students will learn spatial awareness, rhythm and personal expression. This class offers an excellent foundation in early dance explorations and serves as a bridge into our Preliminary Division.

Preliminary Division AGES 5–7

Students are introduced to basic dance movements, beginner ballet, and music skills. Levels are carefully constructed for each age group, encouraging rhythm, coordination, creativity, and listening skills. Informal presentations are held for parents at the end of the year. New students are accepted into the Preliminary Division on a first come, first served basis without audition.

Lower Division BALLET LEVELS 1–3

The Lower Division introduces students to a more structured class environment. The focus becomes on correct placement of the body so students build a strong foundation for future development.
