About YMCA Camp Hi-Rock

YMCA Camp Hi-Rock has been helping children grow for more than sixty years. Our goal is to help children build self-esteem and leadership skills, while still having fun. We focus on activities that foster a sense of community and help campers make lasting friendships. Campers learn valuable life lessons, such as the importance of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Our supportive environment gives campers the chance to build relationships and gain the self-confidence that comes with newfound interpersonal skills. With our camp, kids will have a summer they'll never forget!

OVERNIGHT CAMP
Campers quickly begin referring individually to Hi-Rock as “my camp,” and indeed it will be just that. For many, their relationship with Hi-Rock and the ownership they feel for camp will last a lifetime. Hi-Rock offers programs throughout the year that foster the relationships campers have built with one another and with the camp itself during the summer. The sense of belonging experienced as a summer camper at Hi-Rock is powerful and enduring. Once a Hi-Rocker, always a Hi-Rocker! Camp Hi-Rock provides a “home-away-from-home” environment where campers may stay for one to eight adventure-filled weeks. Our goal is to help boys and girls ages 7-16 grow as individuals, to build their self-esteem while instilling leadership, social and life skills – and to help them have tons of fun in our beautiful Berkshire Mountain environment.

LEADER-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM
The Leader-In-Training (LIT) program provides participants the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills and self-confidence in the camp setting. These skills are not only applicable to camp. Still, they will also foster leadership in the communities to which the LIT will belong throughout life, including their school, college, neighborhood, and workplace. Within our supportive camp setting, participants attend workshops addressing a variety of leadership topics. At the same time, they live with a cabin of younger campers and are mentored by the cabin’s counselors. They participate in fun and challenging team-building activities that facilitate the development of a strong, cohesive group of LITs each session, leading to what often become lifelong friendships. Teens who will complete their sophomore year in high school prior to the summer may apply.

DAY CAMP AT HI-ROCK
Days chock full of fun and friends await campers at Hi-Rock’s Day Camp! Our Day Camp program offers a complete package of transportation, quality care, and exciting camp programs to entertain and challenge boys and girls ages 5-13. Campers experience the unique mountaintop camp life of Camp Hi-Rock while returning home to their families each afternoon. One- to eight-week sessions are available throughout the summer. We can provide a one-week treat or a summer-long adventure with themed activities changing each week to keep the program interesting for long-term campers. Campers are grouped by age to give them the special attention needed at their level of development. The choice is a key part of our program; campers help design their day as both a group and as individuals, with opportunities for individual choice expanding as campers get older.
