About Follow Your Art Community Studios

At Follow Your Art Community Studios, we believe that everyone is capable of creating art. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds, identities, and economic situations. We believe that an environment of creative freedom will inspire and encourage growth and discovery in all who enter. We strive to provide access to a variety of creative arts, crafts, writing, and performance opportunities, in addition to community space for private and public events. Our goal is to foster a supportive and vibrant creative community that celebrates the beauty of the arts!

Imagination Stage

From your child’s imagination straight to the stage, this program brings kids together for a common goal that respects individuality. It’s a great space for active, creative kids with big imaginations and a flair for the dramatic! Using classic tales as inspiration, imaginations take over from beginning to end. Each week, the cast will create an original show in which they are storytellers, actors, playwrights, and designers! Mara uses creative theater games to engage the group in the entire creative process of putting together their original play. Cast members build cooperation and communication skills as they work together to bring their creation to life.

Clay Programming

Interested in having a few spins on the potter’s wheel this summer? Come to The Ceramics Studio to learn and practice basic wheel throwing skills. You will also learn some decorative and finishing techniques like stamping, using colored slips, water etching, slip trailing, using paper resist stencils, sgraffito, mishima, and carving. There will also be a different hand-building project each week. Beginners welcome, with plenty of opportunities for advancement if you come multiple weeks. Bring a small notebook to take notes and sketch ideas!

Summer Programming for Teens

Spend your afternoons at FYACS making art books, learning improv comedy, drawing outdoors, creating paper puppets, exploring iPad digital art, learning how to build your art portfolio, and more! Choose from weekly 3 or 5 day intensives.
