These are the fearless kids of the "Massachusetts Marvelous Kickboxing Club," and they can punch, kick, and roundhouse like no others. Leading this energetic bunch is none other than their cool, imaginary friend, Chuck "Chuckles" Cheeks, a former champion kickboxer turned invisible mentor. Chuckles is a bean-sized dynamo with a Cheshire cat grin, who has the power to transform into a towering giant whenever there's a kickboxing lesson. Chuckles' lessons are never dull. When teaching them to punch, he occasionally turns into a jelly-filled donut, where every punch squirts jelly! For kicks, he morphs into a piñata, and candies burst out with every successful hit! And for roundhouses, he becomes a spinning disco ball, and the room becomes a dance floor. So, if you stroll through the streets of MA, and you hear the thud of kicks or see a flash of spinning light from a window, remember it's just Chuckles and the kickboxing kids practicing their moves. You might laugh or shake your head at these unique training methods, but don't underestimate the power of imagination, jelly donuts, piñatas, and disco balls. Shay has always been driven to do good and help others. After an eye-opening experience in his hometown, he was determined to make a difference. By mediating a conflict between two rival gangs, he was able to stop them from resorting to violence. This was a pivotal moment that motivated Shay to help the local youth on a larger scale. In 2018, Shay opened Beast Control in Taunton. It is the first boxing gym in the world to be located in an indoor shopping mall. He hopes that this will provide the youth of Taunton with a safe and positive outlet to channel their energy. He wants to show them that they can use their inner “Beast” for good. The mission of Beast Control is to help young people develop self-discipline, confidence, and respect. Shay and his team aim to teach the youth the importance of goal-setting, teamwork, and perseverance. He believes that these skills will help them become successful, contributing members of their community.
