They are the marvelous, unmatched, mega-powered Massachusetts Mini Red Sox! Like the towering trees of Massachusetts that stretch to the sky, their dreams and ambitions are as high as the stars. Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! Baseball in Massachusetts is not just a game, it's a festival of fun and teamwork. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
We also believe that each player is unique and that they should be treated as such. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every day we work to customize our program to each individual athlete so that they can reach their maximum potential. We strive to make sure every athlete is being challenged and pushed in the right ways for them.
At UKSD, our goal is to develop young leaders who are driven to make an impact, both locally and globally. Through our program, we work to foster a sense of community in the teens we serve. We use sports as a tool for connecting with the community, teaching valuable skills, and increasing self-awareness and appreciation for diversity. Our program is also focused on educating our participants on social issues that are impacting young people across the world. We align our topics of education with the United Nations' sustainable development goals, and use these issues to guide our community service projects. Our mission is to develop leadership skills in young people, so they can make a difference and become the change they want to see in the world.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands is focused on helping children in under-resourced families reach their full potential. We understand that providing one-on-one relationships with caring adult mentors is a key factor in helping children thrive. With our three innovative program models, we are working to make sure that more children have access to these relationships and the support they need. We believe that giving children in under-resourced families the opportunity to build strong relationships with their mentors can foster their development and open up a world of possibilities. With our help, these children are better equipped to navigate their futures and become productive members of their communities.
