Danbee is committed to empowering girls to be their best selves and take on the world. Through meaningful and engaging programming, girls are provided with the opportunity to build life-skills and strong self-confidence. At Danbee, girls learn to take risks, develop a sense of independence and define their personal goals.
The Danbee experience is designed to motivate and encourage each girl to reach her potential. From all reports, Danbee has been successful in creating an environment where girls can foster leadership skills, build resilience and create lifelong memories. With the support of the Danbee team, girls leave camp with a greater sense of understanding of who they are and what they can accomplish.
Danbee theater classes teach acting, improvisation, voice, costume, and set design. Girls can participate in daily theater classes and experience the joys of expressing themselves creatively. They can also choose to perform in one of the musical shows or work behind the scenes in production and set development. No matter her passion for acting, singing, dance set design, costuming, lighting, and sound, she will find a home in Danbee’s Theater.

Dance
We feature classes in tap, jazz, modern, ballet, and hip-hop. Our dance hall is set up with two specialized and mirrored studios – one studio is specifically designed for ballet and jazz while the other is designed for tap and modern dance classes. For more serious dancers, we offer private lessons. These small group or one-on-one sessions allow girls the chance to sharpen their skills, learn new techniques, and develop new routines.

Journalism and Media
The Danbee Journalism and Media Program emphasize creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. We borrow the quote, “Tell me a story!”, from Don Hewitt, the legendary founder of CBS “60 Minutes”. The program provides the opportunity for “our correspondents” to practice and expand upon their writing and communication skills. Girls learn to prepare for and conduct an interview, research information, take notes and construct a well-thought-out article. The focus is on storytelling and creativity. Stories can be told in different ways — through the written word in an article 0r in the form of a poem. Stories can be told through photo essays or through a series of illustrations. The goal is to provide a creative outlet for the girls to tell a story.

Campsite
Giving campers an appreciation of the outdoors and a chance to try a s’more around a campfire is part of our memory building plan at Danbee. Sleeping by the lake in an authentic teepee, cooking dinner, singing songs and sharing stories around the campfire are highlights of the summer. Traditional camp values and experiences with nature combine to give Danbee girls an appreciation of the importance of conservancy, outdoor living and bonding friendships.
