About SELA: The International Private School

SELA CORE Values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and empathy. At SELA, we strive to give each student a comprehensive education with an emphasis on academic excellence. Our curriculum is designed to engage and motivate students, while also preparing them for higher-level work. This is achieved through a full immersion program that not only teaches students academic knowledge, but also helps them to become bilingual and globally competent citizens. Our focus on emotional intelligence also helps children develop the skills necessary to identify and manage their own emotions, as well as those of others. In order to foster a culture of respect, responsibility, resilience and empathy, SELA’s core values are integrated into our curriculum each month.

Programs

Infant 3 months – 14 months

Children while immersed in the Spanish language, develop a range of social skills, and learn to play and work with others while exploring basic math, science, music, and art concepts. Teachers inspire the joy of learning and discovery each day!

Toddler 3 months – 14 months

Preschool 2 years 9 months – 4 years old

While in Preschool at SELA, students continue to build on skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, music, and art. Students gain a global perspective of the world around them as they explore other cultures and are immersed in a second language.

JuniorK 4 – 5 years old

While in SELA’s JuniorK program, students spend the year working on an advanced level of curriculum designed to prepare them for Kindergarten. Students enrolled in our JuniorK program are fully immersed in Spanish, experience a higher level of learning in their target language, and will benefit from an introduction to Kindergarten level reading, writing, and mathematics. Our curriculum focuses heavily on exploration and discovery through thematic units and is aligned with Massachusetts’ Kindergarten Common Core standards. Full-time JuniorK students also take a Mandarin class each day.
