Cassandra Ferreira, the founder, owner, and instructor of The Children's Ballet & Movement Co., is passionate about helping children to express themselves creatively through movement and dance. She created her studio to give children a safe and inspiring environment to learn the fundamentals of ballet and movement. Cassandra believes that when given the opportunity, children can tap into a source of inner happiness that can be cultivated and allowed to flourish. As a dancer herself, Cassandra knows first-hand how powerful dance can be and strives to provide that same transformative power to the children in her studio.

BeAKid
Toddler dance Program! (ages 2-3)
Mini-Movers/Dance Together Class Our toddler classes are a fun intro to movement, motor skill development, and creative expression! We incorporate basic rhythms, floor patterns, dancing props, and musical instruments while learning to follow a teacher’s directions. Here at CBM, we provide inclusivity for all of our students. There are many ways to learn to dance and move other than following an instructor; we read books about movement, use visual pictures, introduce students to the ABCs of yoga and practice breathing techniques. All the while your Mini-Mover is engaging in a social setting with other 2 and 3-year-olds!

Pre-Ballet, Ages 4-6
Our Pre-Ballet Classes cultivate a sense of self and community by incorporating partner and independent-based dance activities, exercises, and movement games. Students increase their understanding of sequence and choreography with stories adapted to movement exploration! To round out and create a well-balanced Pre-Ballet class our dancers also work on the simple fundamentals of basic ballet steps, vocabulary, and ballet barre techniques.

Ballet 1, Ages 7-8
Our Ballet 1 classes trains and builds on a more traditional ballet class structure. With increased time spent at the barre and center work, students will learn the depth of ballet concentration and strength. Ballet 1 prepares each student to advance to the next level of ballet training.
BeAKid
Modern/Acro - Creative Jam Class for ages 6-9!
This combo class provides an intro to the foundations of modern dance techniques and simple acro movements. Students will explore suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum, and partnering. It’s also designed to develop and learn somersaults, and rolls. cartwheels, handstands, backbends, and more! A fun and well-balanced blend of expression of emotion, the elements around us, growing their movement vocabulary, concentration, agility, and strength!

Modern/Contemporary, ages 11 and up
Our modern dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements; focusing on floor work, and using gravity and inversions to create forms and techniques. Dancers are encouraged to create their own dance routines using their emotions and moods, while being guided by the instructor to challenge their minds and think outside of the “dance box”. This expressive class cultivates freedom of movement and spirit!
