Rock climb, kayak, paddleboard and canoe the Annisquam River. Discover hiking, camping, map and compass basics while developing leadership skills. Environmentally concious Leave No Trace practices are introduced.

Teen Camp is designed for middle school students to have fun while cultivating leadership development, personal growth, community service and social development. At this camp, teens will have the chance to experience all that the Y offers. This camp is reccomended for children in grades 6-8.

Summer Performance Camp
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Cape Ann YMCA and join the Summer Theatre Intensive 2022. The four week performance camp culminates in 2 performances of the beloved musical, The Wizard of Oz. Cape Ann Y's first ever summer theatre intensive welcomes all levels of experience for young people ages 5 to 17 where they can learn the basics of professional theatre as well as be part of Theatre at the Cape Ann Y, a new summer tradition. Student actors will have the opportunity to work with theatre professionals in all areas of production including acting, music, dance, and scenic, prop and costume design while developing self-confidence, communication and teamwork skills as well as introducing them to the skills necessary for professional theatre. The production offers a wide range of roles for all actors to discover their creative potential and shine. Based on the classic novel and award winning motion picture, The Wizard of Oz follows the story of Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas, as she travels to the magical land of Oz to find the true meaning of “home.” . Gloucester native and award winning professional actress Heidi Dallin leads the Summer Theatre Intensive and is joined by Music Director Rin Wolter, Scenic; Costume and Prop Designer Sarah Vandewalle and Stage Manager Jenny Hersey.
