Foxboro Classical Ballet Academy invites you to join us in our mission to introduce this generation of children to the art of classical ballet. Our school is dedicated to the appreciation of classical music and graceful movement. We place a strong emphasis on proper technique and focus on individual student progress through studio demonstrations and Open Houses. Programs at Foxboro Classical Ballet Academy in Foxborough, MA
BeAKid
Ballet 1/1A
This is a beginner level of ballet and creative movement for ages 6-10. The students learn the ballet positions, beginner ballet barre, and basic ballet vocabulary. Stretching and balance are emphasized. Rhythm and musicality is stressed through use of skipping and scarves. We attempt to keep this level fun to develop the child’s interest in dance. Students that have taken class for several sessions, and some students on the older end of the range may be promoted to Level 1A. More is expected at that level, and they may be selected to demonstrate for the class. Once in Level 1A for a while, they may be invited to attend the barre portion of the level 2 class following the Saturday 1/1A class. Level 1A student should be attending at least 2 classes per week.

Ballet 2
This is the next level of ballet. Stretching and balance are emphasized. More advanced steps are introduced, and more is expected of the students with respect to effort and discipline. Steps are put together to create combinations. At this level, students are expected to take minimum of 2 or 3 classes per week. Classes are longer at this level. Once the students have attained the required level of strength and competence, they may be invited to add pointe to their curriculum, as a B+ students. This may take years of training, and a requirement of reaching the age of 12, with few exceptions. Also, it is highly recommended that this level attend Ashley’s Contemporary class on Monday, which will count as an additional class.

Ballet 3
At this level the students begin a stricter study of ballet with more emphasis on correct posture and placement. Much more complex combinations of steps are learned and practiced. Stamina is increased through more repetitive activities at the barre and in the center. More jumping is introduced as the student’s bones and muscles have matured. At this level, discipline and concentration is expected and enforced. B+ students have been invited to the pointe class that is offered at their level. This level requires a minimum of 2+ classes a week, with 3 per week recommended. More advanced student may be invited to participate in upper level classes, while continuing the more technically basic Ballet 3 classes. Also, it is highly recommended that the students attend Ashley’s Contemporary class on Monday, which will count as an additional class.
