About Greater Fall River Art Association in Fall River, MA
The Greater Fall River Art Association is proud to call Fall River, MA its home. We are dedicated to bringing our community a greater awareness and deeper understanding of the visual arts. We offer classes and exhibits on a regular basis throughout the year, all free of charge.
Our association was founded in 1956 by a group of passionate individuals, and our first national show was held in 1957 and the first regional show in 1965. Our original members included John Marshall, Ethel Fuller, Gudrun Lawson, Eleanor Brady, Albert and Clara Stewart, Angus Bailey, Ann McCulloch, Edmund St. Laurent, Eleanor Dunlop, Gloria Poole, Barbara Alpert, and James Waldren. James Waldren even drew up the by-laws and signed the charter at the building across the street from the YMCA on Pine Street.
Since then, the Greater Fall River Art Association has been dedicated to bringing the community a greater understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. We offer classes and exhibits on a regular basis throughout the year and are open to the public for no charge. We invite you to visit us and explore what we have to offer.
