About Hackworth School of Performing Arts

The Hackworth School of Performing Arts (HSPA) is located in Easthampon MA and provides exceptional dance instruction to students of all ages and abilities. Since its founding 86 years ago, the family-run institution has maintained a commitment to fostering creativity and individual growth in a safe, nurturing atmosphere. Experienced instructors and directors guide classes in a wide variety of dance styles, ranging from ballet to modern to hip-hop. HSPA has been in the Hackworth family for three generations. It all began in 1933, when Jackie Hackworth opened the studio with the goal of providing a place for dancers to grow and learn. Over the years, her daughters Lisa Anthony and Alison Forance have continued to uphold the standards established by their mother, training a new generation of dancers to reach their potential. Today, HSPA has become one of the most respected dance institutions in New England and one of the longest running studios in the country. At HSPA, a strong sense of “love and family” is at the core of the studio’s mission. From the youngest tappers to the most experienced performers, everyone is welcomed into a warm, encouraging environment. Instructors and directors strive to inspire each student to reach their full potential, and create a safe space for exploration and growth. The Hackworths’ legacy lives on in every dancer who steps onto the stage, making HSPA a truly unique and special place.
