PRE-K AND K

The Owls Nest is an exciting and engaging introduction to camp, providing a wide range of creative activities in a safe and nurturing environment. The varied activities are designed to encourage a camper’s social, artistic and physical development in ways that are fun and exciting and will keep them engaged throughout the day. Owls Nest campers are placed in age appropriate groups known as nests. Each nest has 10-12 campers, a counselor/camper ratio of 1:4. Campers are grouped by the year they will enter kindergarten and with awareness of their social, emotional and developmental stage.

GRADES 1-3

We believe that campers choosing their own activities helps with their personal growth, encouraging them to try new things and develop decision-making skills. Every day, campers join coed groups of children entering the same grade next fall. Each hour, campers choose which activity among a selection of two or three age-appropriate options that they would like to try. Although counselors encourage children to try new activities, the final decision rests with the camper.

SWIM PROGRAM

Certified swimming instructors work with each child, based on their ability, to develop their individual swimming skills. Campers are divided into small groups to provide a teaching ratio often as small as 1:5 and never larger than 1:9. Group counselors also provide assistance in the water.
