At Apollinaire Play Lab, we believe that creativity is an essential part of growing up. All children should have the opportunity to explore their individual talents and express themselves through art. We provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore their creative potential. We are proud to offer our classes and scholarship program, which give children of all backgrounds the opportunity to express themselves and grow through creative activities.

Inexpensive

Ages 6-8: We will learn basic Ballet terminology and movement, stressing proper alignment, awareness of the body in space, and learn a short dance to perform at the Showcase.

Ages 9-14: We will review basic Ballet terminology and steps, stressing proper alignment adn awareness of the body in space. We will then move on to more advanced technique, and learn a short dance to perform at our Showcase.

BALLET

Ages 6-8: In this fun-filled course, children will learn a variety of creative acting skills through games, exercises and group collaboration.

Ages 8-10, 10-15: During this class, the students will explore important foundations of acting such as voice and movement work, character creation and improvisation.

Spoken Word: Spoken word poetry is poetry that is intended for performance. In this class, students will develop their creative writing skills and public speaking abilities. We will explore topics and themes that interest students and create a small performance from there.

ACTING

Ages 6-8 & 9-14: This hip hop class will focus on the fundamentals of hip hop, which includes working on musicality, performance and creative/expressive movement. We will focus on modern day hip hop and explore styles such as popping, house, etc; Students are encouraged to ask questions, freestyle, and have fun!

HIP HOP

Ages 6-8 & 9-15: Please join us for this series of fine arts classes that are designed to facilitate self-exploration, art appreciation, and community spirit. All children artists will be encouraged to create freely and follow their inspiration as they explore shape, color, line, texture, space, and movement. Everyone will leave the series of classes with an original composition. At the end of the series, all participating artists will be invited to hang their work in a group exhibition. We look forward to seeing you there!
