Meet Jackie O'Riley, an extraordinary Irish dancer from Boston, MA. Jackie's path to Irish dance was atypical, having come to the tradition of Irish set, or social dancing, as opposed to the competitive step dancing entry point of many dancers. Over the past 15 years, Jackie has been a passionate learner of traditional Irish music and dance, specifically old-style or traditional step dancing, sean-nós dance, and set dancing. Her unique repertoire includes older steps she’s studied from masters and field footage, and original material she’s composed.
Jackie is now a renowned performer and teacher, having performed and taught across the US, Canada, and Ireland. She founded O'Riley Irish Dance, a non-competitive dance program for kids and teens in its 7th year. Jackie's passion for Irish dance is rooted in her commitment to prioritizing musicality, being part of the traditional music community, and maintaining the joy that first drew her to the tradition.
Dancers with 0-1 year of experience are especially welcome. Join us as we explore a beginner repertoire of jigs and reels while focusing on the joy and musicality of Irish dance.

Contining Irish Dance
For dancers with 2 or more years of experience, we'll dig more deeply into a rhythm, timing, and technique, and continue building our repertoire of traditional step dance, sean-nós dance, and set (social) dancing. Occasional live music in class, and opportunities to perform and dance out in the community!

Senior/Teen Irish Dance
For experienced dancers, we'll work on a mixture of traditional repertoire and new choreography. Dancers will find their musical ears challenged, and enjoy creating together. Performing and live music are both elements of this level.
