About Fletcher Maynard Academy
At our school, we are taking a closer look at our current practices and policies to ensure that all students have equitable access to the resources and supports they need to be successful. Last but not least, we are committed to holding ourselves and our students accountable for their learning. We believe that by providing a safe and nurturing environment, our students will be motivated to take risks, learn from their mistakes, and grow in their understanding.
This school year, we are prioritizing Inclusion, Equity, and Accountability. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive school culture that promotes belonging and connection, providing equitable access to instructional opportunities, and holding ourselves and our students accountable for their learning. We are confident that by doing this, our students will have a successful and enriching school year.
Programs
The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.
Junior Kindergarten
The Junior Kindergarten Science curriculum includes open-ended units of study that follow students’ natural curiosity about the world around them. It gives students varied opportunities to observe, explore, and investigate using different materials and in different settings (indoors and outdoors). They share and record what they observe and their ideas using science notebooks, as well as talking and listening.
Second Grade
The mission of the English Language Arts Department is to support effective literacy instruction in our schools and to ensure high achievement for all students. To achieve these goals, the department has developed and continues to implement: a comprehensive assessment system with data collection, an effective, supplemental intervention program, targeted professional development at both the district and the school level and individual and cluster coaching in each school.
