For over 35 years, Burlington Day Care and Preschool has been dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care in an early education environment. Our family-oriented, non-profit center is committed to meeting the needs of the diverse communities we serve. Our Frameworks curriculum offers an array of developmental activities that nurture physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. We create a respectful, inclusive atmosphere where families are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s education. We are proud to offer secure, loving care for children ages 8-weeks to 6-years old.

Infant Classroom

Age: 2 months to 9+ months Our Infant Room is licensed for seven babies per day. In this classroom Infants are on their own feeding and napping schedule. This classroom provides low to the ground high chairs, cribs, bouncy seats, swings, bumbos, and other developmentally appropriate toys and equipment.

Cruiser Classroom

Age: 9+ months - 15 months Our Cruiser Classroom is licensed for 7 Cruisers per day. The Cruiser Room is designed to prepare infants to enter the world of toddlerhood. Each day we will be working towards a more scheduled day while encouraging independent skills such as using sippy cups and self-feeding. We provide space for cruising, pulling up, and taking steps in this classroom.

Toddler: 1

Age: 15 months to 2 years Our Toddler 1 Room is licensed for nine Toddlers. We strive to keep a happy environment where smaller children can learn, play, and grow together. We have set up an environment that keeps children busy and encourages their active learning throughout the day.

Toddler: 2

Age: 2 to 2.7 years+ Our Toddler 2 Room is licensed for nine Toddlers. In Toddler 2, children begin to participate in structured activities that are designed to encourage their development. Our toddlers are continuously working to increase fine and gross motor skills, listening and speaking skills, and early literacy skills – all through hands-on exploration and play.

Preschool

Age: 2.7+ to 4 years Our Preschool Room is licensed for eighteen children per day. In this classroom, children are split up into smaller groups of children during learning centers allowing children to develop social skills and encourage their active learning styles. Our learning centers also provide the kind of variety and stimulation children need in areas such as: language, math, science, art, computer, music, dramatic play, large and small motor skills.

Pre-Kindergarten

Age: 4 to 6 years Our Pre-K Room is licensed for eighteen children per day. In this classroom we prepare children for Kindergarten by working with them to develop classroom skills such as sitting in a group, listening, problem solving, sharing, taking turns, language, and academics. We work alongside the children to improve on pre-math skills, letter sounds and recognition, writing their names, simple sight words, independence, and imaginative/cooperative play.
