Our highly certified staff specialize in teaching music, not just playing it. We offer private lessons, early childhood programs, group keyboard classes, classical and jazz ensembles, music therapy, Suzuki instruction, and summer day programs. We strive to provide a comprehensive music education that is tailored to each student. Our goal is to nurture our students to become independent, expressive, and creative musicians.
At Powers Music School, we believe that music is for everyone. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for students of all ages to explore, learn, and grow. Our faculty provide a well-rounded curriculum, helping students to develop their skills and technique, while also encouraging them to express their creativity and find their own personal musical voice. We are dedicated to giving all students the opportunity to experience the joy of music, and to reach their full potential as musicians.
Kids Crescendo: Creative Music, Arts, and Movement(Ages 5-15)
The Kids Crescendo program has provided a unique, immersive music experience for students just like yours for 26 years. For 1 or 2 weeks, kids can understand and experience music through movement, story, and song, with activities rooted in the popular Dalcroze Eurhythmics method of learning. They listen to and participate in live music, translating their energy into percussion by stomping, clapping, and tapping. They learn basic pitch-matching and melodies, hearing and expressing the music with their voices. Then they put it all together by learning the basics of violin and keyboard.
