Infant

A partnership with parents is at the heart of our philosophy for taking care of infants. They want the care that your baby receives at school to be an extension of the care they receive from home. When parents arrive at A Place To Grow, they want to hear about your baby’s night and morning so they can understand their needs for the day. In this way, your baby’s schedule is unique. In turn, you will receive an Infant Daily News which will tell you all about your baby’s day with us. There classrooms all have telephones and they invite you to “check in”.

Toddlers

There toddler rooms are a bustle of independent activity as toddlers struggle “to do it by myself”. They need thoughtful teachers who are close by and who encourage this new phase of development. They are learning new skills and changing each day. They support their fine and gross motor coordination, taking care of their belongings and themselves, and most importantly being a friend and making friends. Your child’s social and emotional development and health is our top priority and an integral part of our curriculum.

They offer preschool children a carefully prepared environment, freedom to make choices, stimulating activities and guidance from teachers who understand the impact of early education on children’s development. There classrooms are divided into learning centers that include: art, building, dramatic play, a reading corner, and science, sensory and math materials. Teachers change the content of the work as the year progresses and as the interests and skills of the children emerge and develop. There curriculum is aligned with the Department of Education’s Preschool Curriculum Guidelines.
