About Andover School of Ballet in Andover, MA

At the Andover School of Ballet, we offer a variety of dance opportunities throughout the year. From Dance Workshops to the ASB Dance Company for Intermediate to Advanced levels, there are plenty of chances for students to advance their skills. We even offer Master Classes with guest teachers that come in periodically. For the summer months, we have Summer Dance Programs for 3-12 year olds and weekly classes for Intermediate to Advanced levels. Through dance, our students learn important life lessons, such as self-confidence and respect for others. We offer a range of classes tailored to each student's age, ability and level of training. As they progress, they may even get promoted to a more advanced level. Our annual spring performance is a highlight of the year for all our students.

BeAKid
Classical Ballet (7 yrs. old & up)

All Levels—Ballet is the foundation for almost all other types of dance technique. Proper training enhances coordination, and creates balance and flexibility. The emphasis is on clarity, precision, correct technique, and body mechanics. Classes consist of barre work, adagio and allegro center floor work, and traveling combinations.

Modern Dance (9 yrs. old & up)

Modern dance is more experimental than classical ballet. The technique develops a freer use of the body using concepts including contraction and release, fall and recovery, floor work, use of spiral, weight shifting, and isolations.

Tap (7 yrs. old & up)

Tap is a dance form that expresses an intricate rhythmic pattern to various types of music. It develops flexibility, coordination, balance, musical timing and is fun! It is very useful to those interested in musical theatre or professional performing.
