About Matsuyama’s Shotokan Karate Doshi-Kai 道志会 in Acton, MA
Since 1984, Doshi-Kai Karate has been a leader in traditional martial arts instruction in the greater Boston area. At Doshi-Kai, students of all ages can learn a variety of martial arts in a friendly and focused environment. The dojo offers a children’s karate program for ages three and up, as well as adult karate classes for all ranks. In addition to traditional martial arts, Doshi-Kai also offers periodic self-defense courses, traditional kobudo (weapons) courses for adults, Iaido / Bojutsu, and more. With a commitment to excellence and a dedication to teaching all levels, regardless of rank, age, or experience, Doshi-Kai is the perfect place to learn martial arts.

Children’s Martial Arts
In the children’s martial arts classes at Doshi-Kai, students learn traditional Shotokan Karate, as well as develop the personal benefits of martial arts including self control, discipline, respect and focus. Our children’s classes are tailored specifically not just to their experience with martial arts, but to the respective physical, intellectual, social and emotional stages of development of each age group.

Adult Classes
Adult classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and we have Saturday classes from 10:00 AM to noon. The adult classes are open and beneficial to students of all levels, from the very beginners to black belts, men, women and adolescents.
