    BALLET AND POINTE

    Ballet is an artistic dance form performed to music using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures. Classical ballet, which originated in Renaissance Italy and established its present form during the 19th century, is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements and, depending on the progress and strength of the student, the use of pointe shoes. Ballet is offered to age 3 & up. Pointe is offered to age 11 & up.

The story and emotional content of a musical are communicated through the words, music, movement of the entertainment as an integrated whole. Musical theatre dance roots lie in jazz technique.
