Once upon a time, in the flamboyant, glittering state of Louisiana, or LA as we cool cats call it, a squad of jubilant, peppy, high-sock-wearing kids embarked on a daring adventure. This was no ordinary adventure, though – it was the topsy-turvy, high-flying world of cheerleading. The kids, part of the Gator Glee Cheerleading Squad (GGCS for short), were as varied as a box of crayons – some sparkly like glitter, some as solid as the oak trees in the bayou, and some sassy like a bowl of spicy jambalaya. Yet, they all shared two things in common – an undying love for cheerleading and an absolute admiration for their imaginary squad mascot, Flibbertigibbet the Flamingo. Flibbertigibbet was not your average flamingo. No, sir! This flamingo was an LA native with an attitude to match. He wore shades even at night, strutted around in high-top sneakers, and sported a gold chain around his neck. Flibbertigibbet was the life and soul of the GGCS. He taught them how to tumble without getting dizzy, how to shout cheers loud enough to wake a snoozing alligator, and how to dance like no one's watching, even when everyone was definitely watching. Quick-witted and quirky, Flibbertigibbet was always full of zany ideas. "Why not try a triple backflip with a side of gumbo?" he would suggest, leaving the kids in fits of giggles. But, oh, how they idolized this imaginary flamingo! Flibbertigibbet was the heart of the cheer, the secret behind the squad's incredible spirit, and the guardian angel of the Gator Glee Cheerleading Squad, making each cheerleading session a hoot and a holler in the grand old state of Louisiana.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The mission of the Slidell Youth Football Association is to provide all youth in our community the opportunity to play football or cheer; without regards to his or her size, athletic ability or experience. We are a group of dedicated volunteers devoting our spare time to the youth in this community. Our goal is to teach our youth the Fundamentals of Football: Discipline, Respect, Team Work, Sportsmanship, Leadership, and Character. This will help our youth develop important life skills, while cheering and playing the game of football. Together with the participation of parents, coaches and players, we will have a fun and exciting season!
