We understand that no two students learn the same way, and we strive to understand each student’s individual needs. We embrace teachable moments and don’t shy away from challenges, but rather view them as an opportunity for growth. In this age of online music lessons, we believe it’s more important than ever to stay connected with our families and students. We don’t believe in social distancing, even when physical distancing is necessary. At Five Hands Studio, we strive to create an environment of support and collaboration. We are dedicated to helping students of all ages and abilities become the best musicians they can be. Our mission is to provide students with the tools and guidance they need to have a lifetime of music-making and enjoyment. PIANO LESSONS FOR KIDS

Our music school in Skokie offers piano lessons for students of all ages and levels. We teach many styles of including classical, jazz, and pop. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced pianist, there is someone here who can help you learn. We now have in person AND online piano lessons for kids all over Chicago and more! Some of our students just play for fun, while others choose to excel with the curriculum of the North Shore Music Teachers Association and the National Piano Guild. Our teachers coach students who enjoy being gently exposed to music, but they also can help students who wish to delve deeper. Some of our more serious students have gone on to collegiate music schools with careers in music. But no matter what, all our music students enjoy expressing themselves with what they’ve learned!

GUITAR LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS

Our online guitar lessons include acoustic, electric, and ukelele. We teach guitar lessons in a number of styles including rock, american fingerstyle, jazz, blues, and chording. Our guitar teachers have university music degrees. They teach proper theory and technique (necessary for any instrument) whether a student studies rock, jazz, or classical. Guitar lessons at our school are enhanced by the opportunity to perform solo in one of our recitals, or with accompaniment. But this pandemic needs to be conquered before we resume those events. However, presently we do offer online guitar lessons for beginners and other levels! The online world can be less personal, but at Five Hands Studio we like to keep our fingers on the pulse of how our students are progressing. We assume that you will need extra help from time to time, which we are happy to provide.

VOICE LESSONS ONE ON ONE

Many students take voice lessons at our school. Students sing all types of music, from their favorite artists to classical arias. Our voice teachers are degreed in music, specializing in voice. They teach everything from pop and jazz to opera. Our voice teachers all have performance backgrounds as well, performing in the Lyric Opera and the CSO. Voice students learn how to breathe properly and increase their range. They also learn to maintain proper pitch, project, and hold good stage presence. They are completely safe from COVID-19 because these are online voice lessons one to one without the exposure that comes from singing music physically near someone else.
