About Prospect Heights Park District in Prospect Heights, IL

Parents in the Prospect Heights Park District are celebrating the award of the Urban & Community Forestry Grant administered by The Morton Arboretum. Graft Tree Care, a qualified contractor, was chosen to complete the inventory and management plan, with the purpose of preserving and protecting existing trees, improving the understanding of the urban forest's composition and structure, and increasing the health and growth of the urban forest. The grant will be beneficial to the entire community, as a healthy ecosystem will improve quality of life for all. The grant will also provide an opportunity for improved management and care of the urban forest both in the short and long term. Parents in the Prospect Heights Park District can be proud that their community was awarded the Urban & Community Forestry Grant. This grant will ensure that the urban forest will be cared for and maintained, providing a healthy ecosystem and improved quality of life for all.

Children’s Programs

Children are guaranteed to have a great time in this class as they learn fascinating tricks from a professional magician! Amaze your family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult you’ll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials will be provided, and each child will be awarded a magic certificate. Children can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks will be taught at each session. Class will be held at Arlington Heights Park District, Arlington Ridge. Classes will be held on January 19, March 1, and May 8.

Prospect Heights Park District offers many types of dance classes for your enjoyment & fun! Your young ones will learn creative movement, basic motor and coordination skills, classroom cooperation, awesome dance steps to rhythm and beats and the chance to make new friends in class as well! You’ll find dance classes for everyone from Ballet to Hip Hop and so much more!

KinderStop & Before/After School Care

The KinderStop program is operated by the Prospect Heights Park District, in cooperation with School District 23. The program is a half day enrichment program (AM & PM KinderStop) offered to our Creative Kids Preschool (4 year old classes only), School District 23 Pre-K (4 year old classes only), and Kindergarten classes. This is a great opportunity for your child to extend their day, in a small friendly environment. Participants will enjoy indoor and outdoor free play as well as planned crafts & games.
