About Expressions Graphics in Oak Park, IL
We have volunteer-run facilities that are committed to being eco-friendly and safe. Expressions Studio is more than just a working press shop. We have a gallery space open to the public where we hold monthly exhibitions and printmaking demonstrations. Our classes and education outreach programs are open to children and adults of all skill levels. At Expressions Studio, we are passionate about art and we are committed to sharing our expertise with the community. We want to promote a general interest in art and foster a creative environment. We offer art classes, education outreach programs, and gallery exhibitions that are open to everyone.

Recycled Printmaking
Make etching-like prints using ordinary household materials instead of copper plates! In this class, you will learn traditional printing techniques while exploring various methods of creating line, tone, and texture using a deconstructed juice carton as a matrix. We will use masking, chine collé, and pochoir to push the possibilities. This method is much faster than etching, so you will have the opportunity to produce a lot of work in a short time. All experience levels are welcome.

Watercolor Landscape Workshop
Create a Summer landscape using watercolor techniques and tools in this workshop. Demonstration of a range of sketching in watercolor, brushes, texture tools, resist, and watercolor paints. Bring your own image references or choose from a limited supply. Supply list available. Masks are recommended.

Pronto Lithography Plate Workshop
Students will learn to prepare a plate, apply image in china or sharpie, fix and clean the plate, and run proofs on the electric press. 2nd day of the session will be print time for students to prepare an edition of up to 10 prints. Some supplies included. Supply list available. Masks are recommended.
