About Turnberry Country Club in Village of Lakewood, IL
Turnberry's golf course is truly a gem in a stunning setting. The design, by famed course architect E. Lawrence Packard, first opened in 1972. This 6,900 yard, par 72 course offers beauty and challenge to golfers of all levels, with mature trees, water on 10 holes, elevation changes and plenty of bunkers protecting the perfectly maintained greens.
Over the years, our course has been the site of many USGA, CDGA and PGA events, such as the Illinois State Amateur Championship, the Illinois Open, Mid-Amateur Qualifying and US Open Qualifying. Professional and amateur golfers alike have praised the quality of the course and its true-rolling greens.

Golf Course
Turnberry spreads across 166 acres and offers a spectacular panoramic view from the elevated 11th tee. The challenge of making par at the 220-yard 3rd hole and 544-yard 17th hole is also among the many delights of playing Turnberry. Despite generous fairways and a virtual lack of green-front bunkers or water, the greens will demand good shot-making to prevent slick downhill putts or chips from running by the hole. The course ratings are 73.1 with a slope of 137 from the Championship tees, 71.4 from the Regular tees with a slope of 133, and 74.0 from the Forward tees with a slope of 132. Turnberry also offers a driving range with a 23,000 sq. ft. blue grass hitting area and a fairway practice bunker, as well as a 10,000 sq. ft. putting green.
