SCHOOL PROGRAMS & FIELD TRIPS

The Forest Preserve District offers a variety of hands-on, environmental education programs in which students explore and experience the natural wonders of Kane County. We offer two types of school programs: outdoor field trips within any of the Kane County forest preserves and traveling naturalist programs at your school or other location. Field trips are offered year-round. Traveling naturalist programs are typically done during the winter months and include an indoor presentation.

LITTLE SAPLINGS

In this monthly program geared for 3-5 year-olds, we'll explore the natural world through a variety of activities specific to the theme of the month. Sessions include a combination of stories, nature hikes, songs, games, or crafts. A parent or caregiver must accompany the child.
