The Music Institute of Chicago offers summer camps, classes, ensembles and private lessons for all ages and levels with in-person and online options. Enjoy working with MIC's award-winning faculty and ensembles-in-residence. As you explore summer opportunities, we encourage you to involve yourself, your children, and the entire family in playing and enjoying music with the Music Institute this summer!

Early Childhood Music and Movement Classes
MIC Musikgarten® classes offer a comprehensive, sequential plan for the musical development of children, birth to age seven, in a joyful and stimulating educational environment. Specialists agree that early exposure to music plays an important role in children's emotional, intellectual and social development. Developmentally appropriate activities build fundamental musical skills and help prepare children for a wide range of music and school activities.

Suzuki Education
MIC’s Barston Suzuki Center offers one of the largest and most comprehensive Suzuki programs in the Midwest. Trained Suzuki faculty provide the highest quality private and group-class instruction. Suzuki instruction is available for piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, guitar, harp, and recorder. Lessons are available in lengths of 30, 45 and 60 minutes.The internationally recognized Suzuki method is based on the philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki that talent and musicianship can be developed in any child. Numerous class and solo performance opportunities are offered throughout the year.
