About Clarendon Park Community Center

Named for the English statesman Edward Hyde, the Clarendon Community Center has been providing quality recreational and educational activities to Chicago residents since its transformation from a municipal beach in the late 1930s. The facility, once home to 9,000 swimmers, now boasts two gymnasiums, clubrooms, a playground, and an athletic field. It continues to bring Chicago families together with its wide range of activities, from swimming lessons to after-school programs. An important part of the city's history, the Clarendon Community Center is a shining example of the Chicago Park District's commitment to providing quality recreational opportunities for all city residents.
