About ABC Dance Academy

Alina Kruk-Velazquez, the owner of ABC Dance Academy, opened the doors in late 2007. With over two decades of dance instruction under her belt, she was well prepared to bring her studio to life. Since then, ABC Dance Academy has grown and expanded in both size and scope. We now offer a variety of dance classes, from traditional styles to more modern and unique offerings. Our convenient location and friendly staff are also available to answer questions in both Polish and Spanish. In August 2013, ABC Dance Academy relocated to Jefferson Park. This allowed us to expand our dance and fitness classes and also upgrade to a two-dance floor storefront. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our students. Our classes are kept small to ensure that each student can receive the help and attention they deserve. Our instructors are experienced and passionate about dance, and are dedicated to helping each and every student grow and improve.

Pre-Ballet

Pre-ballet classes are offered for kids ages 4-6, then ballet for ages 6-9 and 9-13. Pre-ballet class focuses on teaching young children basic coordination and motor skill development while introducing the use of imagination and elements of ballet. Students will be able to learn in a safe, structured environment that is conducive to fostering creativity with props, songs, and fun games! Our little dancers will also be able to show off their newly acquired skills in the June Recital at the end of the school year! Ballet shoes and attire are required for this class.

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a popular dance style at ABC Dance Academy. Our youngest students start with mini hip-hop classes for boys and girls ages 5-7. Then Intro Hip-Hop classes for ages 7-9, Hip-Hop I for kids ages 9-12, and teens. Instructors will be focusing on four key elements that we believe will help our students excel not only through dance but also in self development: technique, rhythm, confidence, and performance goals. Clean gym shoes, joggers or leggings and t-shirt or sweatshirt/hoodie are required for this class.

Break-dance

Break-dancing classes for b-boys and b-girls meet once a week for group classes. Ages 6-9 will start as beginners. Also private lessons are offered to work on fundamentals of breaking. Students will be introduced to toprocks, floorwork, freezes, and as they progress dancers will work on power moves. Dancing in cyphers will be part of the weekly classes, but also showcases will be prepared for presentation of our students at the local events or at the annual Spring Recital.Clean gym shoes, joggers, and t-shirt or sweatshirt/hoodie are required for this class.
