At the Carol Stream Park District, we work hard to ensure that our community has the best parks and recreation opportunities. Our team of dedicated and experienced professionals are passionate about what we do and proud of the work we’ve accomplished. We have received two national gold medals and were the first Illinois park district to receive a LEEDS Silver Certification for the Fountain View Recreation Center. The Carol Stream Park District boasts over forty parks and playgrounds, many of which are connected to regional trails and county forest preserves. Residents can take advantage of the picnic shelters located at seven of the larger, scenic parks and the garden plots at Slepicka Park. We are committed to being responsible stewards of our community resources and providing healthy, accessible, and quality recreation activities for our residents. The Carol Stream Park District is dedicated to creating the best parks and recreation opportunities for our community. We strive to ensure that our residents have access to the resources they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Through education, recreation, and fun, our preschool program offers a balanced play-based learning approach perfect for first-time students. Creative daily lesson plans focus on the development of your child’s necessary prekindergarten skills such as letter and name recognition, printing, cooperative play, socialization skills, listening, and more. Structured and unstructured activities provide stimulating hands-on learning opportunities to promote your child’s physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

Instructional Youth Fall Basketball League

Designed to introduce participants, 4-6 years of age, to the basics of basketball. T-shirt included in the fee. Games normally played on Saturdays at Simkus Recreation Center. League starts in January.

Paddlers 1 (Ages 3-5)

Swimmers learn to enter/exit water with confidence. Instruction includes supported front/back floats, bubble blowing, putting face in water, alternation of arms, front/back kicks, back glide, back glide with kicks, water safety. Kick boards and noodles used as aides.
