The Georgia Grits are led by their imaginary mascot, a roly-poly armadillo named Dilly. With his tough outer shell and his quick rolling moves, he embodies the energy and never-give-up spirit of these softball-loving kids. Dilly, who has quite the funny bone, is always up to some mischief, often hiding in the outfield and popping up to surprise the players just when they least expect it. These kids, whether they are hitting a home run or tasting the dust after a daring slide to the home plate, always have a smile on their faces. Their laughter is as infectious as the sweet scent of Georgia peaches, it makes the sunflowers sway and the robins sing. From the crack of dawn, when the morning dew still clings to the green, green grass, they're out in the field, swinging their bats, and sending softballs whizzing through the warm Georgia air. After an exciting day on the fields, they gather around the biggest peach tree, sharing stories of their epic games, their faces flushed with the joy of the day. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats.
