About Challenge Island - North Tampa

Challenge Island provides opportunities for kids to utilize their imaginations and become empowered with 21st Century skills. Through our foundational palm tree pillars of critical thinking and problem-solving, collaboration, communication, creativity and innovation, kids are able to transcend the traditional classroom and enter a world of possibilities. At Challenge Island, our mission is to support and empower today’s playful, imaginative child to become tomorrow’s empowered, globally-successful adult. Through our innovative programs, kids develop the skills and confidence to face the future with a sense of purpose. Our curriculum is designed to promote deep, critical, analytical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and innovation, all of which are essential skills for success in the 21st century. With the support of our foundational palm tree pillars, kids can explore their imaginations and gain the confidence to tackle any challenge that comes their way.

Afterschool Enrichment
Challenge Island is made up of an archipelago of proprietary islands with each island being built on a wholly unique, cross-curricular theme. Every island is home to a wide array of Challenge Island destinations, each featuring a set of exclusive engineering challenges based around the island’s central theme. Every week, our afterschool STEAM Teams dive into one of our 100’s of proprietary challenges using only a treasure chest full of low-tech supplies and their infinite imaginations.

Girl Scout Workshop
Challenge Island partners with Girl Scout Councils, Service Units and Troops Nationwide to provide Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes with one-of-a-kind STEAM-based experiences that fulfill multiple Badge and Journey requirements. Scouts receive a Certificate of Completion and a Challenge Island Fun Patch during every program!
