! At On the Mat Martial Arts, we’re proud to offer SKILLZ™, an innovative and comprehensive Martial Arts program tailored to the needs of children of all ages. With SKILLZ™, your child will be able to learn the fundamentals of Martial Arts while having fun and developing important life skills. The SKILLZ™ program brings together a variety of international Martial Arts styles and combines them into a curriculum designed to challenge and engage children. With these programs, children are able to focus on physical fitness, self-discipline, and respect while having a blast in the process.

THE EARLY SKILLZ PROGRAM AGES 3-4
Three and four-year-old children are naturally curious. They’re restless and eager to explore their surroundings – and to test boundaries and establish their identities. They might not be ready for the rigid structure of a traditional martial arts class, but they do need to start learning about appropriate behavior.

THE EXTREME SKILLZ PROGRAM AGES 10-14
Kids between the ages of 10 and 14 are capable of great things – but they need the right tools and encouragement to accomplish them. It’s normal for kids at this age to be tempted by taking the easy way out of challenges, but we work with them to help them reach their full physical and intellectual potential.

THE BASIC SKILLZ PROGRAM AGES 5-6
At times, it can be easy for teachers and parents to overestimate 5 and 6-year-old kids. They’re better at following instructions and paying attention than younger kids, but they still may need some help in controlling themselves and focusing on tasks.

THE CORE SKILLZ PROGRAM AGES 7-9
Seven to nine-year-old kids are intellectually curious and starting to mature emotionally – but they also may struggle with appropriate behavior and physical control. Our Core SKILLZ program is especially designed to help them learn martial arts in line with their overall development.
