About School of Rock Oviedo

Our students learn to play the songs they love, and then get to show off their hard-earned chops to real rock audiences on real rock stages. We have been teaching guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys for over a decade, giving students the confidence and skills to go on to pursue their musical dreams. At School of Rock, we believe in the power of performance. Our students learn the songs they love and develop their musical skills through one-on-one lessons and group rehearsals. After mastering the material, they get to show off what they’ve learned on real rock stages to real rock audiences. For over a decade, School of Rock has been empowering young musicians to pursue their musical dreams and build the confidence to take on any stage.

Little Wing
Little Wing is School of Rock's music program designed for our youngest students (mainly 3 to 5-year-olds). This music program for toddlers and preschoolers features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. Little Wing students have one weekly group lesson in which they use classic rock songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.

Rookies
Rookies is a music program designed for children (typically 6 to 7-year-olds) with no previous musical experience. As with all our music programs, Rookies adheres to the patented School of Rock Method. Our Method's core philosophy is that performance-based music education is the best way for students to gain musical proficiency. Rookies students have one weekly group music lesson where they learn music fundamentals like chords, rhythm and song structure. Kids get to learn and experiment with multiple instruments so they are then able to decide which one they ultimately want to continue pursuing in Rock 101.

SONGWRITING
Creating original songs can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences for musicians. School of Rock’s Songwriting Program teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement and music theory, and helps students compose original works. Students have one weekly private lesson on an instrument of their choice where they learn concepts, technique and theory. These principles are then applied in weekly group lessons where students work together on songwriting exercises and lyrical workshops. Every few months, Songwriting Program students take the stage to perform or band together to record their original songs.
