About Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in Orlando, FL

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is an outstanding musical organization, led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen and comprised of creative musicians and artists from around the world. Through its wide range of concerts, the Philharmonic's vision is to enrich, inspire, and serve the Central Florida community through the transformative power of live music. The Philharmonic annually presents the 11-concert FAIRWINDS Classics Series and Pops Series in Steinmetz Hall as well as its Focus Series and Symphony Storytime Series at The Plaza Live, a historic Central Florida venue. Additionally, the Philharmonic also impacts more than 70,000 children, youth, and families annually through its Young People’s Concerts, Symphony Storytime Series, Notes in Your Neighborhood program, and free outdoor community concerts. As a resident company of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Philharmonic is proud to perform in the new Steinmetz Hall, one of the finest venues for acoustic music in the country. Additionally, the Orlando Philharmonic is a Partner Organization of the National Alliance for Audition Support, an initiative to increase diversity in American Orchestras.

OPO Summer Camp

The OPO Summer Camp is a two-week program for String students who want to grow musically while learning from some of Orlando’s top professional musicians and guest artists. This is a great opportunity for High School level students to develop skills like chamber and orchestral playing, music theory, solo performance, and more! Each week will conclude in a performance where students will play side-by-side with principal players from the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Symphony Storytime

Our Symphony Storytime Series at The Plaza Live is specially designed with your family in mind. Enjoy live music for young children, ages three to seven, along with narration and beautiful hand-drawn illustrations that bring favorite children’s classics to life. The 2022–2023 Symphony Storytime Series includes Spooky Serenades, Holly Jolly Sounds of the Season, Just a Lucky So And So, and Peter Rabbit.

Musicians of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will offer Virtual Music Lessons on all instruments of the orchestra! Whether you are beginning your journey in music or working on honing your craft, we have a musician who will help you every step of the way. From beginners to advanced students, the individual needs and interests of each student will be our top priority. With years of experience in teaching as well as performing, our musician-teachers will personalize your instruction to fit your needs. Advanced students preparing for All-County, All-State, Solo/Ensemble, and even recitals or college auditions, will be happy to know that our musicians are well versed in those programs.
