For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. The first is the development of the Spanish language skills, which would provide the child with the possibility of understanding and creating in the language. The second variable is the development of a bicultural identity, which is the result of a process of education in the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. At our program, we understand the importance of bilingualism and biculturalism in children's development. Our approach is based on a constructivist methodology, which emphasizes the importance of the child's active interaction with the environment. In addition, we use a cultural-based didactic method to provide children with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills related to Hispanic culture. Leu and his wife, Mary Jane, with the mission to inspire visitors to appreciate and understand plants. Here, you can explore the various gardens, each specifically designed to further the garden’s mission. We hope you have a wonderful visit to this incredible oasis.
